The NCPA is known for hosting some of the most of the most amazing cultural performances in the country. From dance shows to concerts and comedy they quite frankly do it all. However along with that they also have two extremely nice culinary experiences with Amadeus and Cafe at The NCPA being located in the same compound.
Amadeus being more of a space for a nice meal rather than a lazy Easter Sunday lunch we decided to give Cafe at The NCPA a try.
As soon as you enter the area you get to have a look at the Large Open Kitchen @ Cafe at The NCPA, Nariman Point. Filled with pleasant staff who actually look over and smile back at you. It definitely enhances the experience of eating there.
With misting pipes running the length of the seating area and grass (Im guessing fake but I'm not sure) beneath your feet the space continues to provide a welcoming feel. The mist helps keep the temperatures bareable in Bombay's brutal summer.
My parents and me being ravenous hungry we decided to dive right into the main course.
The Mee goreng noodles were nicely spiced with a distinct flavour of garlic and chilli paste shining through. They provided a good base to eat along with the other gravies. The Asian Vegetables and Water Chestnuts with a Sambol Glaze is difficult to describe but oh so yummy. Spicy with just a tinge of sweetness and a wholesome earthy flavour to it they were a great accompaniment to the Noodles and Rice.
The Brocolli, Baby Corn and Water Chestnuts in Burnt Chilli Sauce @ Cafe at The NCPA, Nariman Point was quite exquisite with a nice char to the chillis coming through in the dish. The Vegetables were well cooked and thankfully there wasn't a lot of oil to the dish.
Rice as part of the Asian Mini Meal (with the Veg in Sambol Glaze) @ Cafe at The NCPA, Nariman Point, had a nice layer of burnt garlic and was interspersed with zucchini bits throughout. A nice base for the gravies.
They were running a cute little contest for easter and resulted in me winning a coffee mug. Quite the nice Easter Surprise @ Cafe at The NCPA, Nariman Point
The Coffee Mug from Cafe at The NCPA changes color when you pour a hot liquid in it. The cheese straws are from the Taj Mahal Hotel, Colaba some of the best in Bombay I guarantee it.
Damages were Approximately 350 Per head but remember we ordered extremely conservatively and directly attacked the main course. Lavish ordering should be around Rs. 700 per head
